Elementary School Program – Sport Enhanced

Sherwood Forest Elementary School offers an “Explorations” Program for students in grade 5 and 6 who are looking for a challenging academic experience paired with an exciting opportunity to practice their favorite sport or art built right into the school day, without condensing the regular school hours. Ringette is one of the sports offered in this program.  The girls train three days a week before school, with the focus of the practices being on individual skills (passing, spearing, skating, and shooting).  Positional play and tactics are introduced as the year goes on and the girls develop their skills and confidence.  Goalies are also welcome in the program, with specific goalie training at about half of the sessions during the year.  This season’s ringette training is winding down, and we are hosting an open house session for anyone interested in finding out what the fun is about! All ringette players going into grade 5 or 6 next year are welcome to give it a try. Coaches and parents will be on site so you can ask any questions you may have about the ringette training or school program. Sherwood Forest is a Bilingual school in the Lester B Pearson School Board.  The school is located at 313 Windemere Road in Beaconsfield.  Students interested in joining the Explorations class must complete a specific registration process which includes a deposit towards the sport or art program registration fee.  Transferring students are more than welcome to attend Sherwood Forest in this class; there are no restrictions based on school zones or addresses.
